A 2nd grader at Hooks Elementary is doing his part to make the world a better place, helping his fellow students to not be hungry.
Braxton Evans is a student at Hooks Elementary that is wanting to help some of his fellow students by raising funds to help Fighting Hunger Through Faith. As of Monday morning, Braxton has raised $600, with a goal set for at least $1,000.
Fighting Hunger through Faith was started in Hooks about a decade ago, and was an effort of the local churches to make sure students were fed on weekends and holidays when they could not get food from school. They now pack backpacks every Thursday and are currently sending food home with 55 students.
