Devotion 2: Mark 1:35 “Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, Jesus went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” (NKJV) Many years ago, I was seeking the Lord in the secret place. I asked the Lord to give me one scripture that I could hang onto for the rest of my life. The Lord spoke “Mark 1:35” to me. At this time, I did not know this verse off the top of my head, so I went and looked it up. When I read it, I understood why the Lord spoke this particular verse to me. Very early in the morning, before the day had even begun, Jesus Christ would get up to seek the face of His Father. Before anybody got up and started asking Him questions or anyone was pulling on His anointing, He already had his daily time of devotion with God. He made an effort to get up and seek out a quiet spot away from everybody else so that it was just Him and God.
Jesus was very strategic in His prayer life. His prayer life was planned, it was private and it was personal. tinued action, not just for a brief moment. Jesus had a constant and continual prayer life where He drew strength from time spent with His Father. All throughout scripture we see that prayer was the primary tool that the powerful men and women in the Bible used to connect with God. It was through these times of prayer that these great people of faith heard the Lord and stepped out into the unknown to complete the destiny that He had placed on their life. When we hear a fresh word from God in our daily time with the Lord, it will send us out to make a difference in the geographical location that God has assigned us to that very day. Each day, early in the morning when I spend my personal time with the Lord, I receive a fresh word that I will later impart to someone else. Seeking the Lord early in the morning gets our gaze upon the Lord and our mindset clear for the day in front of us. No matter what may come your way if you have been with God, you will walk in destiny. Seek the Lord early and allow Him to reveal more of your destiny to you daily.
