David Norman Self went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
He was born on August 26, 1949, in Vallejo, California, to Elsie Margaret Kafer Self and David Newton Self. David worked 46 years for the federal government at Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia, Red River Army Depot and Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant in Texarkana, TX. The last years he was the environmental coordinator for Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant. David served many years as music leader at Malta Baptist Church. He was passionate in packing boxes for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritans Purse.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sylvia Marie Hankins; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vernon and Ima Luttrell.
