Ronny Looney, left, receives an official resolution from State Representative Gary Van Deaver honoring his late wife, Wanda Culpepper Looney from New Boston who died earlier this year. The resolution honored Wanda for her years of community service, in which she gave freely of her time to many causes and organizations including the Bowie County Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, DeKalb City Council, and CHRISTUS Saint Michael’s Hospital Auxiliary Board; United Fund of New Boston and she was a member of the New Boston Chamber of Commerce, the Red Hat Society, and the Gardenia Club of DeKalb; and she was deeply devoted to her faith as member of the New Boston First Baptist Church, where she taught the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
