Joyce Maxine Davidson Cruce, age 75, of Avery, passed away, Sunday, January 1, 2023, at her residence. Joyce was born, October 26, 1947, in Clarksville to Ocie Ollie and Elsa Boney Davidson. She was a retired bus driver for the Avery Independent School District and was also a local hair dresser. Joyce was very active in her community. She was a big supporter of her children and grandchildren, always following them in their sports and school functions. Joyce was an avid and proud Avery Bulldog Fan. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress and enjoyed tending to her gorgeous flowers and garden. Her parents; 2 sisters, Ollie Vazquez and Nava Jean Jackson; 2 brothers, Lynn Dale Davidson and Jimmy Lewis Davidson; and a niece, Brandi Ramirez all preceded her in death. She married Bailey Cruce on November 11, 1966, in Freeport.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Deanie Lambert officiating. Burial followed in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family received friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.
