JAMES FOSTER “JIMMY” BARLING

James Foster “Jimmy” Barling of De Kalb, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. He was 84.

Jimmy was born May 24, 1938 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Foster Hayes and Wyola Montana Maddox Barling. He was a retired Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist for Red River Army Depot. Jimmy was a member of Tapp United Methodist Church where he was involved with the Methodist Men’s Group. He was active in his community and was a member of several organizations including, the New Boston Lion’s Club, the New Boston Genealogical Society, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was an avid hunter and lifetime member of the NRA. Jimmy was a loyal Aggie fan and active member of the New Boston class of 1956.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Robert Barling; brother, Meredith “Tex” Barling; and a wife, Doris Barling.
