A friend had moved from the shelter a week ago, and was getting himself set up in his new place. I drove to his apartment to make sure he would be home as my hubby and son were picking up a mattress and box spring for him.
I knocked, and then I hollered. “It’s Pam. Are you there?”
Cracking the door open, he answered, “Let me get my shirt.”
