Morris W. Dillard passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at his home in New Boston, Texas. He was 84.


Morris was born April 6, 1938 in New Boston, Texas to Floyd and Maudie Cross Dillard. He was a retired security guard for Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and a member of Daniels Chapel United Methodist Church.


He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha Dillard; two sons, Robert Dillard and Forrest Dillard; one grandson, Bradley King; five sisters, Louise Smith, Pauline Berry, Mary Bell, Bessie Cornett, and Dorthy Starnes; and four brothers, James Dillard, Loyd Dillard, Henry Dillard, and Darrell Dillard.


He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Missy Dillard of New Boston, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Tony King of Hot Springs, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Cathy Dillard of New Boston, Texas; five grandchildren, Brian King, Elijah Dillard, Todd Dillard, Tory Dillard, and Kimberly Mitchell; several great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.


Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Daniels Chapel United Methodist Church in New Boston, Texas with Rev. John Barfield and Rev. Steve Minter officiating. Interment followed at Woodstock Cemetery in New Boston, Texas.


Visitation was held 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Daniels Chapel United Methodist Church in New Boston, Texas.
