QUINCY HUGH EVANS


Quincy Hugh Evans passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 at his home in De Kalb, Texas. He was 88.


Quincy was born December 3, 1933 in De Kalb, Texas to Herschel Ben and Hazel Mac Landreth Evans.


He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired Inventory Management Specialist for Red River Army Depot. Quincy was on the Red River Credit Union Board of Directors, a member of the De Kalb Volunteer Fire Department and a De Kalb Police Department reserve officer. He drove a school bus for seven years. Quincy was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.


He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tammie Raney; two brothers, Jimmy Landreth and William Walter Evans; and two great granddaughters, Reese and Quincy Raney.


He is survived by his wife since 1956, Geraldine Evans of De Kalb, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Gary Chapman of De Kalb, Texas; twin sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lamona and Louie English of Gilmer, Texas and Ramona and Joe McMillan of Waxahachie, Texas; eight grandchildren, Winston Raney, Teri Raney, Chance Chapman, Timberly Raney, Toby Raney and his wife, Makenzie, Catilyn Bobbitt and her husband, Elijah, Chris Chapman, and Victoria Chapman; ten great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Kaegan, Parker, Maddax, Saylor, Kaeman, Sedona, Hosston, Lucian, and Ezra; and numerous other relatives and friends.


Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. James Sparks officiating. A military graveside will follow at Hubbard Chapel Cemetery.


Visitation will be held 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas.
