James David Gimlin, age 81, passed away on January 24 2022 at Hospice of Texarkana surrounded by his loved ones.
Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Liberty Eylau and member of Buchanan Methodist Church. He spent 30 years at Red River Army Depot before retiring to enjoy spending time with loved ones and traveling. He was most happy at home at the barn, in his garden or with his animals. He counted his beloved grandchildren as his greatest blessing in life and loved being their Papaw. He had a heart of gold and was always behind the scenes working to make someone's life better or taking in animals who he cared for like family. He fought a good fight. He lived a simple life, however Jimmy was no simple man. He has left a mark on each person he has met. He was such a blessing to many, and loved by all. The Lord knew his battle and that he had won. It was time for a good man to go home!
