Charles “Chuck” Harold Bartlett, age 90, died Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home in DeKalb, Texas.
Chuck was born July 16, 1931 in Sherman, Texas to John Memory and Gladys Lorraine Bartlett. As a child, he grew up in Big Sandy, Texas. After high school, he entered the Air Force where he served from 1947-1950. On March 31, 1956, he married the love of his life, Betty Lou Lee. They began their lives together in Arlington, Texas, where Betty gave birth to two sons, Charles Memory and Timothy Ebert. They also resided in New Jersey and Oklahoma City before settling in Oak Grove to raise their family. Chuck and Betty celebrated 65 years of marriage before she left this world. Chuck’s employment included oil field work, commuting to Paris, Texas to work at the Campbell Soup Company, and owning a Sear’s store in Clarksville. Chuck eventually landed at RRAD and remained employed there until his retirement.
Chuck was the last surviving member of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Val, Jimmie, and John; and his two sisters, Wanda Stokes and Dorothy Guthrie.
