At last Monday night’s regular meeting of the DISD School Board, district leaders chose Emily Lee to serve as Interim Superintendent.
Lee is expected to finish out this school year while the Board looks for a full time replacement for Dr. Chris Galloway, who abruptly left the district the week before.
Galloway left the top spot at DISD after serving in that role since May of 2021. He reached a voluntary resignation agreement with the district that allowed him to resign from the position before the end of his contract, which was due to end in 2026. With the voluntary agreement to resign from the position, the district agreed to pay Galloway a severance agreement of $115,000.
