A special day of giving for East Texas

A special day of giving for East Texas

This year’s annual East Texas Giving Day is just around the corner on April 25 from 6 a.m. to midnight, CST. But donations may be made as early as April 3 this year. The purpose of and area- wide East Texas Giving Day is to bring the area together on one day and as one community in an effort to raise money and support for East Texas nonprofits. East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) began this effort and provides an easy platform for people to make donations online.

East Texas Giving Day spans 32 counties. Each nonprofit that takes part must be located in, or primarily serve, one of these counties in the ETCF service area. These 32 counties include: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Franklin, Freestone, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Lamar, Leon, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood.

In 2022, a total of 296 nonprofits participated in this annual event, and over $2.9 million was given in total donations. Over the past 33 years since its founding, ETCF has received contributions totaling over $203 million, distributed charitable grants in excess of $136 million, and currently manages over $106 million in charitable assets. Also more than 400 charitable funds have been established at ETCF.
