GAY SHUMAKE

Gay Shumake of De Kalb, Texas passed away Monday, July 13, 2020 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital.  He was 88.   

Gay was born November 27, 1931 in De Kalb, Texas to  William Pen and Bessie Mae Proctor Shumake.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean War.  Gay was a retired Ammo Manufacturing Inspector for Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant.  He was a member of Pinkham Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas where he served as a deacon and song leader for 45 years. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruby Pauline Shumake; and one grandson, Daniel Wayne Granbery.
