Ima Lou Richardson, age 83, of Malta, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 4, 2020, after a long illness. She was born October 3, 1936 in County Line, Texas to Hooper and Katherine Norris. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Troy Norris and Harlton Norris.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert “Tink” Richardson, two daughters, Rhonda Glass and husband P.D. and Karen Ford and husband Tommy of Malta, Texas; five grandchildren, Delane Huggins and husband, George of Malta, Texas, Justin Glass and wife Amanda of De Kalb, Texas, Meagan English and husband Clifton, Katlin Ford and Ashton Ford, all of Malta, Texas; eight great grandchildren, Maddie Huggins, Mollie Huggins, Cody Huggins, Haylen Glass Caroline Glass, Easton English, Rayley English and Gage English; sisters, Vera Keechi and husband Gene of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Violet Wilson of De Kalb, Texas, Donna Sturdivant and husband Roy of Texarkana, Texas and Jannie Porter of Salem, Oregon, sisters-in-law, Vicki Norris of Independence, Kansas and Juanie Norris of De Kalb, Texas; and many precious nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ima was a faithful member of Malta Baptist Church, where she served in various areas and sang in the choir as long as her health allowed. She held several jobs in her lifetime including working at the Bowie County Courthouse and at Red River Army Depot. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She provided loving daily care for each one of her grandchildren until they started school.
