Hubbard Archery Team hits bullseye at State meet

The Hubbard Archery team competed at the NASP State Archery tournament in Belton, Texas, on March 22, 2023. According to its website, the National Archery in the Schools Program is “aimed at improving educational performance among students in grades 4th–12th. And through it, students are learning focus, self-control, discipline, patience, and the life lessons required to be successful in the classroom and in life.” This is Hubbard’s third trip to the tournament. The Hubbard team consisted of 23 students in grades 4-8 and collectively ranked 47th out of 55 teams. Standouts like Addison Lee had a score of 273 (out of a possible 300 points) with 14 tens, ranking 7th out of 171 7th grade girls, followed by David Narens with a score of 239, 3 tens, and a ranking of 111 out of 219 7th grade boys. James Berry in his first trip to the tournament scored a 234 and ranked 21st out of 152 4th grade boys.

The team extended their trip with a tour of the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin, Texas, the following day.
