Jody Blaine Watson

Jody Blaine Watson passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was 50.

Jody was born October 15, 1968, in Red River County, Texas to Jay B. Watson and Christine Watson Seggerman.  He married Jeannie Huls on February 17, 1990.  They just celebrated 29 years together.  Jody graduated from Winston High School in Irving, Texas then received a degree in Auto-Body Repair from Texarkana, Texas.  He took pride in his work life, first at Red River Army Depot and then in several of his own businesses.  Jody was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Avery Missionary Baptist Church.  He was volunteer Firefighter for Avery Volunteer Fire Department, where he founded the First Responders program for the town.  He was active in the Red River County Republican Party.  Jody was a mentor to many and enjoyed sharing knowledge.  Jody and Jeannie enjoyed camping and traveling, especially a cruise with friends.  In his spare time, he loved beekeeping and sharing the honey.  He made a garden each year of which he shared the produce with friends and family.  He learned to love woodworking, using skills that long-time friend, Vernon, shared with him and Jacob.  He also loved deer season.  His greatest joy was the gathering of friends and family anytime we could celebrate!
