CHARLES FRANKLIN BIRDSONG

Charles Franklin Birdsong, 70, of De Kalb, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. 

Charles was born February 23, 1949 in De Queen, Arkansas to C.P. and Louise Williams Birdsong.  He served in the Army National Guard and was a retired Truck Driver for Copeland Oil.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Elmer Davis; his father-in-law, James Barnes; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Barnes. 

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Barnes Birdsong of De Kalb, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Maegan Birdsong of De Kalb, Texas; one daughter, Kim Birdsong of New Boston, Texas; one grandson, Blake Birdsong of De Kalb, Texas; one granddaughter, Bailey Birdsong of De Kalb, Texas; one nephew, Chuck Davis; two nieces, Tammye Davis and Michelle Daniel; and numerous other relatives and friends. 

Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 10, 2019, at Austin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Justin Coburn and Rev. James Bunger officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Simms, Texas.

Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
