Joe David Johnston, 58, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at his home in New Boston, Texas.

Joe David was born December 6, 1960 in Texarkana, Texas to Joe C. and Marilyn Johnston.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Johnston and one grandson, Ethan Johnston. 

He is survived by his wife, Stacey Johnston; two sons, Aaron Johnston and Michael Long; one daughter, Jennifer McDaniel; his father, Joe C. Johnston, one sister and two brothers-in-law, Camille and Scott McCool and Chris Whitehead; his mother-in-law, Wanda Whitehead; five grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. 

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Bro. James Boyd Strain officiating.  Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas.  

Visitation will be held 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 21, 2019at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
