JULIANNE BURKETT LIPE
Julianne Burkett Lipe, 95, of De Kalb, Texas passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at a local care facility.
Julianne was born October 13, 1923 in White County, Arkansas to John Grammar and Leah Frances Dobbins Sowell. She was a retired Parts Department Supervisor for a local John Deere Tractor Distributor, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Amazing Grays. She was a member of First Baptist church where she was active in the Spice of Life Group and volunteered and served on the De Kalb Oktoberfest Committee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Hulan G. Burkett and Gordon Lipe; and one daughter, Martha Ann Burkett.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Burkett Belcher of Bogata, Texas and Myra Burkett Loving of Texarkana, Texas; a special caregiver, Juanita Moore of De Kalb, Texas; a former son-in-law, Jeff Loving of Texarkana, Texas; a sister-in-law, Martha Sowell of Little Rock, Arkansas; a brother-in-law, Gene Angel of Searcy, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Matt Belcher of Bogata, Texas, Brooke Franks of Bogata, Texas, and Ashley Goodman and her husband, Josh, of Texarkana, Texas; five great grandchildren, Grayson Richeson, Julia Richeson, Carson Franks, Reagan Goodman, and Gabbi Goodman; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Robby Bates and Rev. James Sparks officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 P.M. at Gum Springs Cemetery in Searcy, Arkansas.
