FRED L. DERUE
Fred L. DeRue, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2019 at his home in New Boston, Texas.
Fred was born January 17, 1934 in Sodus, New York to Frederick and Elizabeth Joan VanStain DeRue. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a retired Quality Control Inspector for Red River Army Depot. Fred was a member of Plantation Baptist Church where he was active in the Plantation Prayer Breakfast Group.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ricky DeRue; and one daughter, Pamela DeRue.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Obenoskey DeRue of New Boston, Texas; one stepson, Zane Gauntt and his wife, Patty of Simms, Texas; one sister, Charlotte McClaren and her husband, Lee of New York; four grandchildren, Ashley Goodnight and her husband, Denny, Brittany Gauntt, Cameron Gauntt, and Dakota Spain; five great grandchildren; an numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Bro. Frank Worley and Bro. Charles Hillis officiating.
Visitation will be held 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
