DOYLE S. (STEVE) BARFIELD
Doyle S. (Steve) Barfield, age 93 of New Boston, Texas passed from this life Wednesday, February 27, 2019 to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born May 4, 1925 in New Boston, Texas to Homer Dillard and Bertie Chessar Barfield. He was a member of Cross Power Church (formerly Old Boston Baptist) for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved buying and restoring old trucks. He worked at Red River Army Depot for 33 1/2 years, for Dwight Wood Motor Company and Johnston Ford Motor Company for 21 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Carolyn Barfield, one son and his wife, Dr. Carl and Beverly Barfield of Gainesville, Florida, one grandson and granddaughter in law, Christopher and Kate Barfield of Daisey, Florida, , two great grandchildren, Ryan and Cora Barfield of Daisey, Florida, one sister in law, Miriam Mills of Nash, Texas, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, Two special friends, Tami Ford and Jan Harper of Red Lick, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Bates Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston with Bro. A.M Adams, Bro. Jerry Ford and Robert Weldon Barfield officiating. Interment will be in Ringwood Cemetery, New Boston under the direction of Bates Rolf Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 1, 2019 at the funeral home.
