HARVEY RAY SIMS

Harvey Ray Sims, age 55, of Greenville, Texas, and formerly of Amarillo, Texas, died suddenly October 10, 2018, in Leonard, Texas. Mr. Sims was born April 8, 1963, in Amarillo, Texas, to Rufus Harvey and Doris Dale Connelly Sims, Jr. He was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and MDS Co-Ordinator for Leonard Manor Nursing Home in Leonard, Texas. He married Aimee Elizabeth Thibeaux on December 25, 2014, at De Kalb, Texas. He was a member of Caddo Mills United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Rocky Sloan and George Sloan; one sister: Opal “Dee” Sanders. Surviving family members include: his wife, Aimee Thibeaux Sims of Greenville, Texas; a daughter; Lydia Shatney of Greenville, Texas; two sons: Evan and Paul Shatney, both of Greenville, Texas; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Warren and Peggy Bates Thibeaux of De Kalb, Texas; two brothers: James Sloan of Channel View, Texas and Andy Sloan of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters: Carolyn Thibault of Rockport, Texas and Doreen Weidner of Ames, Oklahoma. Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Greenville, Texas with Rev. Chris Lost officiating. Inurnment will be in Woodmen Cemetery, De Kalb, Texas, at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church Youth Ministry, 1200 E. Joe Ramsey Blvd, Greenville, Texas 75402.
