The Bowie County Master Gardeners and Texas A&M-Texarkana’s Extended Education and Community Development Department will host the program “Preserving Your Harvest” on Monday, July 10, 2023, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The class is free and open to the public. The class will take place in the Texas A&M Texarkana University Building, Room 326. No reservation is required to attend.
The program will be presented by Cheryl Mapston, Bowie County Master Gardener.
Gardening can be a great hobby, providing a little exercise and nutritious food for us and our family. Sometimes garden production can get ahead of our ability to eat all this great food as it comes in from the garden. If you have been thinking about how to preserve this great food for later but have been unsure of how to start, this is the program for you. Make plans now to attend this workshop that will cover the basics of canning and freezing bounty from the garden for later use. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation.
