The ACE program at DeKalb Independent School District provides a unique opportunity to students and parents alike. After school Centers on Education (ACE) is a federally funded program that is centered around, according to tea.texas.gov, “When the last bell rings, Texas ACE is just getting started with interactive, handson learning disguised as fun and aligned to the school curriculum.”
The ACE coordinator at De Kalb ISD Phonda Meader says, “Our ACE program gives students a place for homework assistance, tutoring, enrichments, a meal and even some fun, especially on Fridays.”
“We currently have around 85 kids in our program”, says Meador. “They are made up of kids ranging from Pre-K to eight-grade.”
