Most of you know Margie Manning from her many years as a band director at New Boston ISD. Her influence on the children of New Boston will be felt for years to come. After her retirement from New Boston, she accepted a part-time position as a music teacher at Malta ISD, and has since established the first-ever band at Malta.
It is obvious that Ms. Manning has a deep love for kids and music. However, what you may not know is that she devotes most all of her time to helping others - young and old, and sometimes even of the four-legged variety.
Ms. Manning is an active member of Tapp United Methodist Church.
She plays drums and trumpet on the Tapp Praise Team, and works tirelessly for Operation Christmas Child. Margie goes several times a year with a group to Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where she helps to feed the families staying in the Ronald McDonald House and delivers toiletries and other necessary items. She also fosters dogs and is a dog-mom two her own two fur babies, Peyton and Kirby.
