The last thing Lowell Walker expected when he moved to DeKalb to retire was to wind up in political office. But that’s exactly where he has found himself, and by all accounts, has been pretty successful.
Lowell was raised in the Longview area. He spent many years working in the oil industry as a self-taught petroleum engineer, before also working in both finance and the mortgage industry.
He and his wife Melissa moved to DeKalb in 2015, with nothing more on Lowell’s mind than spending his retirement traveling and participating in competitive shooting events (Lowell holds two World Championships and has won the U.S. Open in his class).
