A group of area high school graduates spent part of their summer working on a special project, quite different from what they had expected.
The five young adults had planned this year on attending UMARMY as some of them have done every summer of high school. However, as many other events have been, this year’s UMARMY was canceled, but these five didn’t let a little thing like COVID-19 stop them. With the help of their sponsor Lori Thomas and very generous donations from Boston Hardware, Blaine Epperson Lawn Care, Lowe’s Texarkana, and some great food donated by Randy’s BBQ, Wendy’s and Margaret Sewell, the group completed a home repair project for a Wake Village woman that included paint, trim work, and porch renovation.
The crew also found time for daily devotionals each day, with a theme of “All In.”
