Tonya Briggs celebrates the start of her 27th year in education as an award-winning principal at Paul H. Pewitt High School.
Briggs was named the principal of the year for Region 8 by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals. This is an honor she said she did not earn on her own but through the dedication of the staff, faculty, administrators and school board of the Pewitt Consolidated Independent School District.
“I could not do this without everyone here,” Briggs said. “It’s not just me. I’m the one receiving the honor but it took all of us to get us to this position.”
