The first of four defendants in a sex trafficking case was sentenced to 40 years in a Bowie County district court.
Rashaan Cunningham, 46, entered a plea of guilty to the two charges of continuous trafficking of persons and two charges of aggravated sexual assault. The plea came before the start of the August 1 jury selection.
District Judge John Tidwell sentenced Cunningham to 40 years in a Texas state prison on each of the charges to run concurrently.
