In the 2023-24 season, the De Kalb Bears and Lady Bears look forward to continuing success and building strength withing the program through investing in athletes on and off the field.
Boys Athletic Director Troy Zeringue said, “Last year our football team went nine and three and lost in the second round to Dangerfield in a really close game, by a touchdown. That was a tough loss for us, but it was a good season for us, nonetheless. Our best player last year didn’t finish the year with us, and he’s back this year so that will be really big for us this season.”
“Baseball wise, we lost in a three-game series to Winnsboro in extra innings in a really competitive game”, said Zeringue. “That was the first time we made the playoffs in I think 10 years. We have a lot of young guys coming back, so we should be pretty competitive on baseball.”
