The fifth ranked Hooks Hornets improved to 3-0 after making short work of the Hawkins Hawks on the road in week four. The Hornets put on an impressive performance, earning 568 total yards of offense, holding Hawkins to just 12 points.
Quarterback Ripken Birdwell ended the night completing 14 of his 17 passing attempts for a whopping 233 yards and four touchdowns and one interception while rushing twice for 42 yards.
Jatavious “Boogie” Johnson had five receptions for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Johnson recently received his first Division 1 offer, from Colorado State University. Emmanuel Baird followed with three catches for 43 yards and two touchdowns of his own. Jorge Velasques had a pair of catched for 30 yards. Rod Bailey caught three passes for 30 yards and KJ Gatson had one reception for 17 yards.
