Three county citizens will now be joining the Bowie County Appraisal District’s board of directors.
Senate Bill 2, which passed Texas legislation over the summer, is requiring county appraisal districts statewide to hold countywide elections to vote in three positions to four year terms.
Historically, the appraisal board has been five voting members who represent the taxing jurisdictions across the county with the tax-assessor collector serving as a non-voting member.
