I want to expand on a recurring topic from here in this space in recent weeks, and I believe the need to continue the subject is born from the fact that we need to keep hearing it.
We live in an ugly world, and it is not likely to get better anytime soon. But, that is up to us. Ugliness surrounds us every single day as the world we live in is chock full of folks that care very little about anything but themselves. They only care about their agendas, their needs, and their wants. Things like compassion and empathy are rare commodities. Basic ideas like living our lives humble and kind make good song lyrics, but way too many only consider the words lyrics in a song and not a way to live their lives.
I sit here at my desk this morning listening to the words of songs sung by one of my favorite Christian singers. Mylon Lefevre was a rocker in his early days, yet he wrote the song “Without Him.” He also song songs like “Love God, Hate Sin” and “Shower the People” and over the course of his life his music touched a lot of hearts. Mylon passed away recently but left behind a legacy that won’t soon be forgotten. At the heart of each of those songs are words to live by.
