A longtime educator and former president of Texarkana College was honored by the naming of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education complex at the college last week.
“It truly is an honor for Texarkana College to have a namesake of James Henry Russell on this facility,” Dr. Jason Smith, president of TC, said to the large group gathered in the atrium of the STEM complex to honor Russell.
“The idea of naming this facility the Dr. James Henry Russell STEM complex started before I even got here. (He), to this day, still does not like the fact that his name is on this building … but it’s only fitting.”
