There is a lot of “good stuff” and “God stuff” going on in our little neck of the woods these days, so I wanted to take this space to throw out some info and some kudos to those involved.
First, I have to say a huge thanks to all of those involved in this year’s DeKalb Oktoberfest. Unless you are one of those who volunteers for the effort, you simply can’t understand how much work goes into the event. This is not a day that gets planned and put together the week before. The annual festival literally starts getting worked on for the next year just days after it is over. It takes the coordinated efforts of a lot of people, and this year’s event was a really good one.
That said, to all of those that enjoyed it, why not consider being one of those who works to make it happen. I can guarantee that more volunteers are always needed and any kind of help would be appreciated. Maybe you could spend a couple hours putting up signs, or even making signs. Maybe your expertise lies in marketing, maybe you are good at kid’s games, and I know there are a bunch of folks around here that know how to make a pie or cake. Like I said, any help would be appreciated. Think about helping out next year.
