One local woman’s triumphant battle and victory over breast cancer
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we wanted to share with our readers a positive story about strength, dedication and courage and a call for all to be more aware of your health and to be proactive in self-checks and awareness. Kim McDaniel is one who can be defined by all of those terms above. A mother of three, a wife, and a clinical director at St. Michael’s, Kim knows about the battles and trials of life, and the everyday challenges that life can bring. But nothing can prepare you for the onslaught that comes with a breast cancer diagnosis. Around four years ago, Kim first became aware of a problem during one of her routine self-checks.
After putting it off for a while and after a little prodding by her husband Braden, she made the right choice to go in.
