Fourteen state propositions will be on the ballot for the November 7 General Election, with early voting beginning this past Monday. The state propositions include amendments that could affect state parks, infrastructure, state funds and more. A brief summary of each of the propositions on the ballot are included as follows: Proposition 1: “The constitutional amendment protecting the right to engage in farming, ranching, timber production, horticulture, and wildlife management.”
Proposition 1 proposes an amendment protecting a person’s right to engage in generally accepted farm, ranch, timber production, horticulture or wildlife management practices on owned or leased property.
Proposition 2: “The constitutional amendment authorizing a local option exemption from ad valorem taxation by a county or municipality of all or part of the appraised value of real property used to operate a child-care facility.” Prop 2 proposes an amendment to allow a county or municipality to make an exemption on property taxes for properties that are used for childcare.
