As the 2023 football season has come to an end, many local athletes have earned recognition for their hard work through postseason accolades. What was surely a season to remember in our coverage area produced nail biters, blow outs and stalemates. Trash was talked, rivalries settled, and good games exchanged by all. In 2A, James Bowie Pirates Dylan Braley earned MVP of District 9. Braley led the Pirates in rushing yards and has been a go-to running back throughout his tenure. Junior Kristian Lambert was named Defensive MVP for the district. Lambert returning for another season will surely help the Pirates on the hunt for their third straight district title, the second under Chance Blackburn.
Senior Gunner Robinson was named Lineman of the year. This protector has served pancakes and running lanes throughout his career and will surely be missed in the coming season.
Maud’s Rip Thomas, a name you have read a lot in the last three years, was rightfully named Utility player of the year.
