As football and volleyball season comes to an end, student athletes all over Texas are hanging up their cleats and knee pads and lacing up their hightops and inflating the Spaldings; it’s basketball season. With the season in full swing, district coaches gave The Tribune a peak at what makes their teams special.
Starting the season with a state ranking by Dave Campbell’s, the Lady Hornets from Hooks are a strong team looking for the district title and more. Head Coach Jack Bowles said his team is led by Anna Beth Black and Kinsley Birdwell. “Our team is going to run and gun and have some fun!”
“We will press and try to force tempo and look to attack the basket”, said Bowles. “We will try to shoot the three ball.”
