I had a conversation with a local mayor last Friday that got me to thinking about the state of the world. And when I say that, let me clarify that I really mean our little part of the world right here where we live.
No, I am not naive or unknowing about things that are global or even across our country, I simply choose to focus my attentions and energy on the things that matter to us here in Northeast Texas. Those things include our schools, things going on in our communities, and local politics. I confess I have never been one to spend a lot of time on politics, especially politics across the country and the world. When it comes to those things, I tend to trust God to take care of those folks, and I focus on politics right here at home.
That said, going back to my conversation on Friday, I long for the day when politicians were more like my friend Judge James Carlow.
