Amidst the chaos of daily life in East Texas and beyond, keeping our faith grounded is a challenge. Yet, as a Christian author and a woman who has found joy in the simplest of God’s creations, I believe the Bible is not just a book but a compass that guides us through the stormiest of seas. I’m facing some storms. So these are for me too. But I thought I’d share ways to live for God in this harsh world.
Embrace Love and Kindness - “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” (John 13:34). In a world often cold and unkind, be the warmth of Christ’s love. Show kindness, not just in grand gestures, but in everyday acts.
Cultivate Joy - “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10). Find joy in the Lord, in the beauty of nature, in the laughter of children, and even in your trials, for joy is a wellspring of strength. Seek Peace - “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9). In a world of chaos, be a haven of peace. Let your words soothe, and your actions heal.
