The Marvin Nichols Reservoir, government spending and property taxes are the biggest threats to East Texas, said the three Republican candidates vying for the Texas House of Representative District 1 seat.
Chris Spencer and Dale Huls faced incumbent State Rep. Gary VanDeaver Wednesday night in the first candidate forum in Bowie County before the 2024 primary election.
The event, which was hailed as a non-partisan forum, was held at Church on the Rock in Texarkana.
