The 2023 – 2024 school year kicked off with the Redwater FFA Officers attending the State FFA Convention in Dallas, Texas. Students were able to attend workshops and business session where they learned more about how the FFA works. They were also able to spend time as an officer team doing team building exercises.
As soon as the school year started our heifer show team began preparing for the Four States Fair. Ethan Shumate finished 2nd in his class as well as Jacob Hoffmeister. Later that month Ethan competed at the Heart of Texas Fair in Waco.
Meanwhile, our Leadership Development teams were busy preparing for contest. They traveled to Longview, Alba Golden, and then the Daingerfield District Contest. We were proud to have a Radio Broadcasting Team, Jr. Skills Team, Greenhand Quiz Team, and Job Interview. All of the teams did amazing at contest and Ethan Shumate advanced to Area in Job Interview. These events teach students the skills needed to be great leaders.
