A Haitian-American pastor was denied a permit to allow his family temporary residence in a building on church property in Hooks which his ministry is seeking to purchase.
Jean-Jacob Jeudy is the pastor of the Walk by Faith International Ministries Church in El Paso, Texas. He told the Planning and Zoning Committee he was led by God to move his ministry and found the vacant church at 13th Street in Hooks available for sale.
Jeudy appeared before the committee and members of the community via Zoom Tuesday night at a special meeting of the P&Z committee.
