Texas A&M University- Texarkana and the Texarkana, USA Chamber of Commerce have announced a new collaboration between the two institutions designed to bolster workforce readiness in the Texarkana community. This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in the journey toward Texarkana’s recognition as an ACT Work Ready Community.
A Memorandum of Understanding signed between the university and the Chamber of Commerce signifies a shared commitment to implement the ACT WorkKeys program, a renowned initiative designed to equip individuals with essential workplace skills. The Chamber of Commerce received a grant from the TLL Temple Foundation allowing the purchase of the ACT WorkKeys Curriculum that will be shared with the university.
Dr. Brian Matthews, Associate Professor of Management at A&M-Texarkana, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership stating, “The integration of ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate will allow A&M-Texarkana stucent dents to develop essential, foundational skills necessary to compete in today’s rapidly changing workplace.”
