On March 8, the City of Hooks Chief Johnny Millwood of the Hooks Police Department issued a formal press release announcing that one of his his officers had been terminated from the department following his arrest on alcohol charges.
That press release reads: The Hooks Police Department has announced the dismissal of Officer Ronald Clay McDaniel Jr following the investigation and the arrest of McDaniel for Public Intoxication and Open Container of Alcohol. The department takes the conduct of its officers very seriously and holds them to a high standard of professionalism and integrity. This behavior is not only unacceptable but also puts the safety of the community at risk. Chief of Police Johnny Millwood stated, “The conduct displayed by Officer McDaniel is not reflective of the values and expectations we hold for our officers. We will not tolerate any behavior that jeopardizes the safety and trust of our community.” The Hooks Police Department remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and serving the community with integrity.
