Congressman Nathaniel Moran Takes Oath of Office

Congressman Nathaniel Moran (TX-01) released the following statement after being sworn in as the new U.S. Representative for the First Congressional District of Texas: “I am humbled and honored to represent my family, friends, and neighbors in the First Congressional District of Texas. Early this morning, I took a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution and I pledge to fight for the conservative values that East Texans hold dear. We have a tough road ahead, but I look forward to being a strong and steady voice in Congress and fighting for conservative legislation on behalf of the First District by joining my Republican colleagues to rein in reckless spending, secure our southern border, protect the unborn, and restore our failing economy.

“I would like to thank my wife, Kyna, and my four children for the sacrifices they are making as we serve East Texas together. I look forward to being your trusted and steady voice in Congress. It’s time to get to work.”

About Congressman Moran: Nathaniel Moran became a Texan just a few months before he turned two years old, when his parents moved to rural East Texas with other families of faith to help start a small Bible College in southern Smith County. His formative years were spent growing up in a single-wide trailer home on that Bible College campus, where he learned from his parents the values of hard work, service to others, and service to God.
