Baseball and softball action dives into district

A close play at the plate was the theme for the day as the Maud Cardinals came from behind in walk off fashion to beat their rivals down the road 7-6 in baseball action last week.

The Cardinals trailed 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th when Kaleb Newton doubled to bring in a pair of runs and give the Cardinals the win.

On the hill, Graham Hawkins earned the win for Maud allowing five runs, just one earned, and struck out six.
