A DeKalb High School sophomore says a friendly competition with her brother helped her on her way to earning the top spot in this year’s state powerlifting competition.
“I wanted to do one sport with my brother before his senior year,” Talisha Ingram said. “We are very competitive and I like to lift weights. His coaches always tell him that I’m stronger than him.”
It was that drive to compete with her brother, Deuce, and her love of lifting weights that led the athlete to start powerlifting her freshman year.
